Directions:
1. Mix hair color solution following manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Pour hair color solution into bottle provided, and screw on the Roots Only hair coloring applicator comb.
3. Although Roots Only is virtually mess free, it’s a good idea to place a towel over your shoulders.
4. Run a comb through your hair to remove any tangles.
5. Using Roots Only as you would a comb, comb through your hair while squeezing the bottle. Be sure to keep the teeth of the comb in contact with your scalp.
6. If you hit a tangle, simply stop squeezing the bottle and use the applicator head as a comb to remove the tangle.
7. The hair color solution stops flowing when you stop squeezing. Once the tangle is gone, reposition the Roots Only hair coloring applicator comb and resume.
8. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for hair color processing time.
To Clean Roots Only Applicator:
1. Fill the Roots Only bottle with warm soapy water, and screw on the hair coloring applicator comb.
2. Shake and squeeze water through the hair coloring applicator comb until water flow is clean and free of hair color solution.

Roots Only Applicator Comb itself is a bottle made of clear soft plastic with a screw-on cap with 10 hollow teeth. It has a measurement table on the other side which is very useful when you need to mix your hair products in certain proportion.

I use this great product for applying oil treatment to my roots. I must say that Roots only got me back to oiling my scalp ^_^ I used to use oil on my scalp and roots before but I stopped doing so because of the mess I created while oiling. I got oil everywhere - on the bathtub, sink, washing machine, wall, floor... Of course, I got oil on my roots as well as on the lengths and on my arms up to elbows haha ^_^ I'm not that clumsy, if you use oil treatments you know how they can get everywhere... So I stopped it.
When I had received Roots Only I decided to start oiling again the more so because I started to notice some dry dandruff which is usual for me in winters, and hair growth is never excess as well ^_^
In the past I used Apricot Kernel Oil and added Essential Oil of Bay W. I. for hair growth. Essential Oil of Bay W. is very expensive so I didn't want to waste it on my lengths where it's useless. But every time I oiled my roots in the past I used 1.7 fl. oz. / 50 ml of that mixture because it was so hard to reach my roots with my very long thick hair...
Now I use only 1 fl. oz. / 30 ml of the oil to cover my roots! What a savings! And there's no mess at all! I just unscrew the cap of the bottle, pour Apricot Kernel Oil into it, then add 1 drop of Essential Oil of Bay W. I., gently shake to mix them together and place in a glass with hot water to warm it up. Then I take my Roots Only and place it on my head in contact with the scalp and make a movement like I comb my hair while squeezing the bottle. Then I repeat this simple movement several times and finish the oiling process in less than 5 minutes. Then I massage my head to stimulate the blood flow, put on my plastic shower cap and wrap in a hot towel. I leave it on no less then 40 minutes and then I wash my hair with my regular shampoo.

That's it! No mess, no time wasting and no product wasting! So I'm back to oiling my hair weekly! Thanks Roots Only! BTW My dandruff has gone ^_^ And now I'm expecting a lot of hair growth!
I think this little tool will be very helpful for covering the lengths and ends of your hair with treatment products too as well as for coloring the hair. Personally I don't color my hair but I started noticing some gray hairs here and there so I think I should start coloring my hair in the near future... And I would use two different Roots Only Applicator Combs - one for oiling and one for coloring because I found it difficult to wash the bottle and the applicator from oil, there's always a few little drops inside. I guess washing the applicator from hair color would be way easy! But using two applicators for different purposes is not a problem for me because Roots Only is totally affordable.
